WebbThen tried to revert to "old way", i.e. PXE using syslinux based this time one slow tftp instead of http, it worked, but failed later when downloading packages. This means that my http server is probably broken (strangely, link is stable during normal ssh/operations, but when on high load, it drops). Webb23 sep. 2024 · The tftp transfers are painfully slow, often taking 30-60 seconds for a file that rsync transfers in under a second. So network bandwidth isn't the issue. Webb23 maj 2024 · There is no way to restart TFTP transfers from anywhere other than the beginning. TFTP is a lock step protocol. Only one packet may be in flight at any one time. There is no slow start or smart backoff mechanism in TFTP, but very simple timeouts. TFTP is not well suited to file transfers across administrative domains. WebbThe use of TFTP services does not require an account or password on the server system. Due to the lack of authentication information, tftpd will allow only publicly readable files (o+r) to be accessed, unless the --permissive option is specified.
